Table Mount |
V1.70a |
The VZ-3neo.UHD version B is designed to be mounted onto horizontal table top.
The Visualizer is equipped with the swivel plate and the optional working surface foil can be attached onto table top.
Depending on how it is installed, the Visualizer can be rotated through 90° either to the right or to the left. To keep the desk space tidy, run all the cables through table top.
Additionally the risk of theft is minimized.
Please note
Consider heat output of up to 32W!
Keep hatched area clear for fresh air ventilation.
Visualizer will be screwed onto table top.
Exact marking of the desired position of the Visualizer is very important !
Ensure mechanical stability of the table.
Use mounting tools carefully !
Optional working surface foil is very sticky (adhesive on its back) !
Check finish of the table surface before mounting.
Check material of table top before mounting, the table top has to be resistant and reliable for proper behaviour of the swivel mechanism.
Note instruction manuals of used mounting tools and equipment.
Failure to follow instructions can lead to severe injury !

Due to the different installation possibilities of the swivel plate, you need to decide your preferred way of mounting your device:
Check material of table top, soft material may avoid proper fixation. Extremely hard/solid material requires different drilling tools
Prepare all necessary parts (unit with all supplied screws, hex nuts, and mounting plate).
Prepare all needed tools, inclusive pencil, screwdriver Torx 20, drilling machine, drill Ø 4mm, hole saw Ø 30mm, bradawl, spanner 7mm.
Hint
An adapter kit is available for mounting onto table tops on which former Visualizer models were mounted with larger through-table top hole.

Please note
Note space required for mounting, operation and parking.
The screw-tip will protrude underneath when mounting on thin tabletops.
Allowed thickness of table top between 15mm to 45mm [0.6" to 1.17"] (with supplied screws).
For easier removing of pencil strokes afterwards, put masking tape onto the table for match-marking.
The measurements are in mm.
Due to the different installation possibilities of the swivel plate, you have to decide your preferred way of mounting:
Fold down to the left, parking position on the left hand side.
Fold down to the right, parking position on the right hand side.
Note space required for mounting, operation and parking.
Necessary free place when the unit is folded down (parking position)

Locate the desired position of the Visualizer and its pick-up area.
Use the opposite mounting plate to match-mark all three drill holes.
Hint
When using the opposite mounting plate as drill jig, hold the plate stable in position and avoid damaging the existing holes.
Please note
The three notches of the opposite mounting template are for easy positioning for match-marking. The Roman numerals (I, II, III) indicate the direction to parking position, working position and free area.
I ... Parking position
II ... Working area / camera pick-up
III ... free area
Mark the max. pick-up area of 497 mm x 300 mm (19.6" x 11.8"). (mark at least the top border of max pick-up area)
Mark the centre line of the pick-up area, and lengthen it by at least 185mm (~7.28") to get the centre position of the Visualizer
Use the opposite mounting plate as template.
Note the roman numerals and also the tips of the mounting plate (place the plate in front of you to count the number clockwise)
Measure 156.2mm from top border of pick-up area and mark it.
This line and the previously drawn centre line will be needed to place the opposite mounting plate as template.
Place the opposite mounting plate, the centre of the upper holes have to match the drawn line and the tip has to match the centre line, note the correct orientation and roman numeral:

Mark the drill holes for the fixing screws
Mark position of optional through table top hole, which allows the cables to be routed through table top.
Drill the two holes for fixation through table top with diameter depending on material of table top and used screws.
To fix the unit with the supplied metrical M4 countersunk screws: Ø 4mm drill bit.
Alternative to screw-on the unit directly onto wooden table top, countersunk 4mm Spax screws (wood) are recommended.
Ø 2mm drill bit (check with screws used)
Ensure stability of table top material.
Drill the optional hole through table top with a diameter of Ø 30mm.
To avoid damaging the cables, the edges of the hole must be made smooth, for example using sandpaper.

First place an M4 countersunk screw through swivel plate, table top, and opposite mounting plate and fix it with the supplied hex nut.
Rotate the unit to place the second M4 screw through swivel plate, table top, and opposite mounting plate and fix it with the supplied hex nut.
Hint: when the swivel slips and the second screw cannot be accessed, fix the swivel temporarily by putting the second screw from underneath through the screw hole and rotate the unit.

Please note
Ensure that both hex nuts are tightened securely.
When needed, the opposite mounting plate can be secured by screwing it onto the table plate from underneath (use all four empty holes of the plate with diameter Ø 3.5mm. Use screws with correct diameter, correct thread and suitable for the table (screws are not included).
Please note
Select suitable screw length based on the thickness of the table top. Under no circumstances should the screws block the swivel mechanism, the tips of the screws must not protrude.
Screw in the first countersunk Spax screw through swivel plate into table top.
Rotate the unit to screw in the second Spax screw through swivel plate into table top.
Ensure both that screws are proper tightened.
Please note
Use 4mm countersunk Spax screws with maximal length according table top.
Check stability of table top material and ensure its robustness.
Important
Select suitable screw length based on the thickness of the table top.
The tips of the screws must not protrude.
Under no circumstances should the screws block the swivel mechanism.
Ensure that both screws are tightened securely.
If you want to equip your Visualizer with a dry-erase surface there is a final step in the installation. With this accessory, a presenter can write onto, and erase directly from the Visualizer working surface using suitable whiteboard markers and erasers. This enables the Visualizer to be used as a whiteboard or "digital flip chart".
Connect the Visualizer to a display device and power supply. Lift the arm to working position to switch it on.
Clean the table to ensure adhesive fastening.
Zoom to full Wide end position by using the zoom wheel and check position of pick-up area on the display device to place the optional working surface foil.
Peel off the protection foil from backside of the optional working surface foil, attach it onto the table at the previously chosen position (start at one edge and smooth it down to the other edge to prevent air bubbles).
Please note
The adhesive of the foil is very sticky, check surface of table top.
