In April 2025, Kobe College marked a new chapter in its long academic tradition with the establishment of the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences. Located on the Okadayama Campus - designated a National Important Cultural Property - the college is renowned for its serene atmosphere and elegant European-style architecture, which reflects its rich history and deep-rooted values in education.
Amid this timeless setting, the university continues to embrace technological innovation to enhance its learning environments. As part of this effort, state-of-the-art WolfVision systems have been integrated into select classrooms to support modern teaching methods and flexible learning.
To understand how these advanced solutions are being utilized within this unique educational space, we spoke with Ms. Mika Nishino from the Audiovisual Centre at Kobe College.

Evolution in the classroom
Kobe College’s Okadayama Campus, designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan, is steeped in history and tradition. Within this distinguished setting, one particular classroom - designed for language learning—has continued to evolve with the times.
Brightly coloured chairs are neatly arranged, and the room is equipped with interpreter booths and Panasonic guide systems. Ceiling-mounted cameras provide flexible pan-tilt-zoom functionality, covering the screen, the instructor, and a range of preset viewpoints. A lecture capture system is installed at the instructor’s podium, allowing remote control of recording start and stop functions. Despite the campus’s elegant and timeless atmosphere, the classroom is outfitted with state-of-the-art technology.
Among the key technologies introduced here are WolfVision’s VZ-3neo Visualizer and the advanced Cynap Core Pro system from the Cynap series.
The VZ-3neo, with its eye-catching modern design, delivers high-definition imaging of not only paper-based documents but also 3D objects and thick reference materials. Its continuous autofocus function ensures a sharp image at all times, allowing presenters to simply turn the zoom dial without worrying about adjustments.
Meanwhile, the Cynap Core Pro supports a flexible network environment, enabling wireless screen sharing not only from instructors' PCs and tablets but also from students’ personal devices. It also integrates with web conferencing platforms, allowing Cynap Core Pro to serve as the host system for remote and hybrid classes.

Cynap’s ability to mirror content from any seat with ease is extremely important. Many of our instructors also work with thick reference materials, so the visualizer’s deep depth of field and intuitive usability have been very well received.
Ms. Mika Nishino Audiovisual Centre - Kobe CollegeMs. Nishino from the Audiovisual Center at Kobe College explains:
“The nature of the classroom continues to evolve over time. At our university, we focus on selecting equipment that allows for flexible operation and can adapt to a variety of teaching scenarios.
In this particular classroom, we use modular furniture that can be freely rearranged, and both side walls have been designed to function entirely as whiteboards. This creates an environment well-suited for active learning.
In such a space, Cynap’s ability to mirror content from any seat with ease is extremely important.
Many of our instructors also work with thick reference materials, so the visualizer’s deep depth of field and intuitive usability have been very well received.”
This installation at Kobe College exemplifies how advanced AV technology can seamlessly integrate into even the most historically significant and architecturally refined educational environments. By combining flexible classroom design with intuitive, high-performance solutions like the Cynap Core Pro and VZ-3neo, the university is able to support a wide range of teaching styles - from traditional lectures to active learning and remote instruction.
WolfVision’s systems have proven to be a valuable asset, enhancing both the functionality and versatility of the space, while empowering faculty and students alike to engage more effectively with content. As Kobe College continues to evolve, its commitment to blending tradition with innovation stands as a model for future-focused learning environments.
